Black Girl Magic

Carol Martin, introduced us all to the quick witted and cuteness that is her daughter, Marsai Martin on YouTube years ago. We watched one of Beyoncé’s biggest fans sing her little heart out to some of the Queen’s iconic singles. With awards like the, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited-series) Marsai Martin’s comedic genius is a force to be reckoned with. I am sure it helps that she gets to hone her chops and glean from greats like Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Lewis, Anthony Anderson and Lawrence Fishburn. Talk about living, breathing and working amongst all that Melanin Magic and Theatrical Greatness. #jealous 🙂

If you follow her on her social media platforms you get to see snippets of her life outside of her on-screen moments and age appropriate slayage on the red carpet. As an observer/fan, who’s  watched her evolve and grow, it’s evident her family keeps her grounded. I would venture to say her family being her foundation, is why she is blazing her own trail in these Hollywood streets.

At the age of 13, Little Miss Martin, is set to executive produce AND star in her first feature film titled, Little. In fact she is Executive Producing this film and came up with the idea for the script. For those of you who don’t know, when someone is executive producing, there is a percentage of their own finances that go into making a feature happen. This is a bonafide example of training up a child in the way they should go and instilling financial fortitude in your child. This is sure to put Marsai on the path to generational wealth.

First reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the comedy is centered around a woman who has the opportunity to the relive the joys and responsibility free times of her youth, when adulthood does what it does to us all, Too Damn Much. #facts Martin will play the younger version of the woman. The Will Packer film is one I will be anxiously waiting to see.

Take a look back to where it all started and get into this cuteness overload.

When this good news was announced, her TV family and others joined in, in congratulating this the rising star.
